Superfood Green Smoothie Bowl

Sometimes you just need a pick-me-up. And yes, I drink either a green juice or mega energy packed smoothie every day but today I needed even more. Maybe it was a lack of sleep, or simply a lack of energy but I wanted something with an extra boost.

Therefore, I made this smoothie (recipe below), threw some homemade raw granola on top and stuck it in the plants to take a photo. Although the neighbors think I’m nuts, the picture came out cute! More importantly however, the smoothie provided me with the boost I needed and was pretty yummy to boot.

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2 large handfuls spinach
  • 1 tbsp flax seeds
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1 tsp green-blue algae powder (great source of vitamin b12 for vegetarians and vegans)
  • 1 tbsp organic almond butter
  • 1 cup filtered water (I use the Lauretana brand…which, if you are in Italy, you MUST drink because it is incredible. Btw- I’m kind of a water snob!

Instructions:

  • Blend, top if you want (I dumped a bit of homemade cinnamon nut and seed granola on top but anything works) and enjoy!!!
