Blue Nice Cream

โ€‹For some unexplained reason, ever since I was a little girl, I loved eating blue food.

๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ’™

I never even cared about the taste- as long as it was blue...

Does anyone remember โ€œSmurfโ€ ice cream?? I mean... what WAS that anyway?? And despite the fact that I loved mint-chip...because it was green and not blue... I would order the smurf โ€œflavoredโ€ treat. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

You name it, if it was blue, I would order/buy/eat it! And Iโ€™m not talking blueberries or natural blue corn. I mean funky glow in the dark most likely GMO carcinogenic blue #1 food colored sugary goods. I.E: blue fruit roll-ups, Gatorade, blue โ€œrazzberryโ€ blow-pops ๐Ÿญ and the like.

โœจโœจโœจ

And then I grew up. I learned something about nutrition. I stopped all that nonsense ๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿป (the 80โ€™s ended too. Thank god) and yet- I STILL LOVE BLUE FOOD!

Alas- blue spirulina exists and I can make as much naturally blue hued food as my little heart desires. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™

This smoothie bowl (eaten by myself and my daughter- hands photographed here ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿป ๐Ÿคš๐Ÿป) was simply made with four all-natural vegan ingredients. And it was as blue as the sky and the sea!

Blue nice-cream smoothie bowl:

3 frozen bananas

1/2 cup full fat coconut milk

1 tbsp @pureraw.de blue spirulina powder

1 tsp maple syrup

Instructions:

Blend in a high speed blender (I used my @vitamix ) and decorate (this is decorated with mini strawberries, blueberries and banana hearts.)

And there you have it!

Anyone else love blue food as much as we do?
