Savory Biscuits

When you just want BREAD! So you make GLUTEN FREE VEGAN savory biscuits! ⭐️
I’m all about raw food, cold pressed juices, huge salads and smoothie bowls but sometimes (and I’d be lying if I didn’t admit it), I just want carbs... bread, pizza, crackers, pasta... etc.
The good news? You can eat all this without refined flour and all its nasty effects on the body (inflammation, weight gain, high blood pressure and mood swings to name a few). I’ve been making these biscuits for years and have used a number of different recipes but these are my favorite by far.... especially buttered right out of the oven. And a plus? SO easy to make!!!
Savory biscuit ingredients:
1 cup blanched almond flour
3/4 cups brown rice flour
1/4 cup potato starch
2 tbsp white rice flour
2 tbsp tapioca flour
2 tbsp cornstarch
A large pinch of Himalayan salt
2 tsp baking powder (aluminum free)
1/2 tsp baking soda
3 tbsp vegan butter (and more for spreading)
3/4 cup unsweetened rice milk
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Instructions:
Heat oven to 200C (400F). Mix the vinegar with the rice milk (preferably room temp) and let sit for 5 minutes. Mix all the dry ingredients together. (Set aside about 1 tbsp of mixture to dust). Cut in the butter with a fork until there are small pieces (like any pastry dough). Pour in the milk mixture bit by bit until a good dough consistency has formed. I had a bit leftover.
Dust a baking sheet with the flour mixture you set aside and lay the dough onto the sheet. Flatten out until about 1 inch thick and cut into squares (I used a pizza slicer)! Bake for about 20 minutes (more or less) or until golden brown.
Serve and enjoy!
